Voting experience

Woah woah woah

Early morning my brother tried to wake me up so that we'll be able to vote early but I stayed at the bed.
They proceeded to the school leaving me behind still laying on my not-so-comfy bed - it's very hot actually.

Minutes later I got up and get ready to go to school, proceed to my assigned precinct - I already knew where my precinct is through the COMELEC website. When I got there, I was kinda shocked!!! The line was super duper long. Luckily, I got a lower priority number 196 because the long line I saw when I arrived was not for the priority number. It a long line for nothing. Good thing I did not stand in there waiting for nothing.

It took me almost 3 hours to wait and viola, I was able to vote. In my first try, the PCOS machine accepted my ballot. I feel I became part of one of the kind event - the first automated election of the Philippines.

I pray that it will be peaceful and the winning candidates will do their jobs very well. And for the others who were not lucky enough to get their post, they may able to accept their defeat - better luck next time.

Ciao!!!

So Annoying!!!

Do you have a person close to you that is so irritating?

He seems very observant and I think it is one of the good qualities of a programmer to have. It can help you find some errors that you yourself can’t find on your own. But sometimes instead of being an instrument for a better result, I can find him irritating because he criticizes every explanation that you are trying to imply just to satisfy his questions or observations.

Or maybe it is just me. I don’t know why. It’s been like this for a week now. And I hate it. There are some times that I’d like to ask him some questions but I do not want to hear those words again that irritate my ears. We are in a non-terminating cycle discussing over a same single matter. It has been like this almost every day last week.

And now this week, I already said to myself that I’d better find it out on my own. He doesn’t know anything about this anyway as he always implies during our conversation. It is no use to ask him. So better yet, ask those people who know something about what I am doing. Unfortunately, they are from the other part of the world and replies would eventually come a day after.

I’m sorry if I may act childish or selfish or naïve or whatever you may call it. But I am only expressing what I feel right now. He is really annoying!

To person whom I am referring to in this blog, I am really sorry. But I just want you to know that the way you act is no longer helping. I am telling you this now so that you may know what we see and feel about you and correct it. People around you will no longer find you approachable if you continue to be like that. I am still a friend that is why I am telling you this frankly. (BTW, I already talked to him personally.)

You may ask why I posted this blog. Well, it is just one of my ways of expressing my inner feelings. It is just like shouting at the top of my lungs all the bad feelings I have. I didn’t mention a name here, so you’re safe. I am not also directing ‘he’ as a guy but ‘he’ as a person. I used ‘he’ since it is generally used to represent a person – a human being.

*****

Anyway to all readers, hope you don’t find this post offensive. As I’ve said, I am just expressing my feelings. Thank you very much.

Peace and Joy (Romans 5:1-11)

In Catholic Church, we usually say to each other ‘Peace be with you’ then the response would be ‘And also with you’. How glorified I am cause know that the people around me are sharing and enjoying peace together because it is the peace of Jesus Christ that is being shared.

But one thing left in my mind is that did they really mean to share it to others? Or they just say it in response without any feelings at all? Do they received God’s peace? How can have this peace of God? What are the rewards in having this God’s peace in us?

Having peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ is acquired by having been justified through faith. (v.1) In faith, we believe that God is our only God; that Jesus is the Son of God sent from earth, died for our sins and raised from the dead on the third day; that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to guide us and protect us. No matter what the circumstances are, we are still at peace in the Lord. With this, we enjoy living a harmonious life in Christ Jesus. Even if there are a lot of problems, trials, challenges in life, we are still at peace in Christ Jesus. We gladly embrace sufferings for sufferings can produce perseverance, and perseverance produces a character, then character produces hope. (v.3-4). Hope is forever there, in Christ love has poured towards us through the Holy Spirit. This unconditional love is demonstration by the sending His own Son to die on the cross for our US.

God shows His love for us. When we were sinners, He saved us through His blood. How much more when we are now saved? When were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son Jesus Christ. How much more when we have Jesus in our life? Through Jesus Christ, we are reconciled with God. (v.10-11)

Are you claiming God’s peace that has given to us? If not, then claim it NOW. And enjoy the rewards stored in God’s kingdom.

May the peace of the Lord be with you ALWAYS…
God bless and MULTIPLY

Summer hits Cebu
I can feel the heat of the sun
My throat desiring for cold water
Sweat running on my forehead
Ah, I need some fresh, cool air

One night or early dawn
I heard a strong sound upon our roof
A very strong sound that wakes me up
Alas, it’s raining outside
Great that I feel cold inside

By morning when I woke up
Preparing myself for work
I am so thankful that it rains
Now I can feel good temperature outside
And balances the head in my body

Praise the Lord
He provides us what we need
For He knows that we can’t bear extreme heat
To God be the glory

Holy Week

What are your plans?
What will you do in these days?
Are you going to beach, to park or to the mall?

I just want to share something with regards to this topic. This Holy Week reminds us the great sacrifice Jesus Christ has done for us. And the Bible always reminds us to remember His death. This sacrificial death builds a bridge that fills the gap between man and God because of sin. With this bridge, we can cross over from death to life – the eternal life God has promised to us. What’s this gap? What about this bridge? What eternal life are you talking about? Let me tell you a good story.

One day in the time of Adam and Eve, God and man are very close to each other. God is holy, loving, powerful and a provider of all things. He is a good father. They can talk like what we usually go to our parent, friends and colleagues. It does not use figurative speeches. It is just a simple conversation between two objects. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God (by eating the forbidden fruit) there is a now a gap between the relationship of God and man. This gap is made because of sin – and that makes man separated from God. In Romans 3:23 it says For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” So, everyone of us are sinners. No one is exempted from this fact. And in Romans 6:23 says “For the wages of sin is death, …”. Here on earth we are suffering eternal death. There are two kinds of death. One is the physical death – that is we will die physically and our bodies will be buried. Second is the spiritual death – it is possible that we are physically alive but spiritually dead. Hebrews 9:27 says “Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment”. Judgment is certain. And all those who will not pass the judgment will go hell. Revelations 21:8 proves this “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters, and all liars – their place will be in a fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death”.
Who among you wants to go to hell? No one, right? Because of this, man finds their own ways to fill the gap. First, by going good deeds. But not all good deed is pleasing to God’s eyes. In Ephesians 2:8-9 it says “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”. So doing good deeds is not a solution. Second one is through good morals but not all good morals are good for the others and some may be other way around. Bad morals in one country may be good in other countries and vice versa. So, following good morals is a no no. Third is through education. But learning to much about such thing scholarly is putting more guilt to one’s self and worse, may lead to false information and judgment. Final attempt man made to fill the gap is through religion. Religion is good but it is not a sure way to salvation for it is written in Acts 4:12 “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved”. All these four attempts made by man cannot fill the gap that has made by sin. Man is hopeless.

But in John 3:16, it says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life”. God made the way. As it is said earlier, God is our great provider; He provides us the bridge that fills the gap that made because of sin for the man to cross. It is confirmed by Jesus himself in John 14:6 “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.”. Man may ask how strong is this bridge? That’s the common question to every common man before going to cross that bridge. That bridge has three strong foundation to make it a reliable and a strong bridge and it never falls. One strong foundation is in Mark 1:1 “The beginning of the gospel about Jesus Christ, the Son of God ”. He is the Son of God that came down to earth from heaven. Second is in 1 Peter 3:18 “For Christ died for sins once for all…”. He died on the cross for the payment of our sins. He suffered for us, he represented us on the cross. He paid it in full amount for us. That way it erases all our sins through His blood. Third is in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, it says “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures”. This implies that He can overcome death; from earth He ascended to heaven with God the Father where there is eternal life.

Now, there is already the bridge, and it strong by its three foundation, what is man going to do? It is stated in John 5:24 “I tell you the truth; whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has corssed over from death to life.” All man have to do is to hear His words and believe on it. that is the way of crossing the bridge – Jesus Christ.

In God’ kingdom, we can claim the promises He has prepared for us:
1. Has crossed over from death to life (past)
2. Has eternal life (present)
3. Will not be judged (future) – since Jesus Christ has already paid for it on our behalf

The choice is YOURS.
Revelations 3:20 “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”

Jesus is now knocking at the door of your heart, will you let Him in?

Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

Prayer of Faith

Lord Jesus, thank you for knocking at the door of my heart. I open my heart to You today. I admit that I have been in control of my life until now. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. I believe that You died on the cross to pay for my sins. I believe that You rose again from the dead to give me eternal life. I receive You in my heart as my Savior and Lord. Lord Jesus, please take the throne of my life. Help me to follow You from now on, and help me to fulfill Your purpose for my life. Amen

Upon accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will become a child of God and has life. John 1:12 says “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” and in 1 John 5:11-12 says “And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life”.

God bless and multiply!

Story-story lang

March 28, 2009 – 5pm – IT Park, Lahug, Cebu City
JOY Group Gathering

Bonding Time!
In LA – JOY group, is a group of youth in Lakas – Angkan Ministry Inc. where young professionals and even students are formed to make bonding moments, play games and enjoy everything around and make fun fun fun.

I invited my friend Lucman in one of our gatherings on the date and place above. I bet he really enjoyed our company because I can see he deals well with my friends in the group. And my bet is right (and I think I deserve a million bucks) because he wants to join in our next strike of fun. How I wish I can invite more friends in this gathering. The more, the merrier.

Pictures will be provided soon.

Have a blessed Holy Week to all guyz.

What a blessed Sunday!

I am inspired to create this blog because of the wonderful experience I had on February 7, 2010 Sunday. And would like to share it to you guyz…

I woke up early in the morning to go to my usual Sunday fellowship. I was late then but it did not stop me from worshipping God and be with them. The message was also so inspiring and I would love to share the message: Joy in Trails based on the text from James 1:2-12

2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.
9The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position. 10But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower. 11For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business.
12Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
How will you guys face the trials in your life? Would you accept with great joy or turn back from it and ask for a happy and peaceful life instead? In the verses above, God wants us to face the trials because it will help to mold us into a better person, and accept it with joy because it is a blessing that God entrusted us this kind of challenge for He knows we can do it. And through this, we will remain victorious in life. There are three essentials for victory in trials.

A JOYFUL ATTITUDE (James 1:2)
God wants us to face the trials of many kinds with joy because our outlook in these trails will determine the outcome of this. Our values will also determine our evaluations and our attitude towards trials will determine our actions to take. If you face trials with joy, you surely will overcome it with lessons and a stronger outlook in life. It also makes you a better person than before. And if you see trials as a pain, then you will not win from the challenge it gives.

AN UNDERSTANDING MIND (James 1:3)
Our faith to God is always tested. And this testing is done to work for us, not against us. These trials are rightly used to help us mature.

A SURRENDERED WILL (James 1:4, 9-12)
God cannot build our character without our cooperation. We must submit ourselves to Him so that He can shower us His blessings and the promises He has made for us. God’s goal for our lives is maturity.

Are you treating trials and the challenges in life as pain or as a joy?

Lord, please help me see that the trials, all the problems, the stress, lack of money and other challenges You have given to me is Your way of building me to better person fitted for You and Your kingdom, Amen.

After the fellowship, I was invited by my fellow Christian and a friend of mine Ate Sol to their place and eat lunch with them. Wow, that’s another blessing, a FREE LUNCH. Hehehe…

It was set in a meeting last week that there will be having a bonding time or small gathering for the youths in the church. And I was chosen to take charge for the group’s snacks. The given budget was only (drum roll) 280.00 for 14 person. Yeah, 280 PESOS FOR 14 PERSON?!? Ok, thanks God I am with Ate Sol in this assignment. So, how are we going to fit the budget 280 pesos for 14 person? Is it enough? I doubt so. But Ate Sol was so confident that this budget is enough for our group’s snacks. Remember the time when Jesus fed the big crowd with only 2 fishes and single bread available? Now, in this assignment will going to see His power. So we started budgeting as follows:
Egg Sandwich (good for 14 pax)
Eggs 6.00 x 4 = 24.00
Cellophane 7.00 x 1 = 7.00
Sliced bread 28.00 x 2 = 56.00
There is already mayonnaise and milk in the refrigerator but it was Ate Terry’s. She allowed us to use some of it and pay for the part that we had used afterwards.
Mayo and milk used about ¼ part
from each item 50.00
SUBTOTAL: 137.00
Chichirya
Richee(small) 4.75 x 2 = 9.50
Moby(small) 4.72 x 2 = 9.50
Rinbee(small) 4.72 x 2 = 9.50
Clover chips(big) 16.75 x 2 = 33.50
SUBTOTAL: 62.00

Softdrinks 1.5 ml
Coke 35.00 x 1 = 35.00
Sprite 35.00 x 1 = 35.00
SUBTOTAL: 70.00

CASH-ON-HAND: 280.00
TOTAL: 269.00
CHANGE: 11.00

Based on the computation above, can you see how great and powerful God is? My doubt was totally gone. How amazing!!! And there’s more! When we are buying those items at E-mall, we are lucky to join a promo from Nestle. All we did was just answer some questions they provided in a questionnaire and if we got it right, we have prize. The questions are about the contents from the label of Nestle product, thus promoting the habit of checking the product’s label. Surprisingly, we have a perfect score and won a prize. Ate Sol got a facial towel while I got a small notebook.

Now we are about to head to IT Park, the group’s agreed place. Upon going to the mall’s exit, Ate Sol got a phone call from a friend. Her friend is asking if they can have a talk. I can sense that it is very important so I agreed to wait for her at the Goldilocks. Ate Sol confirmed my instinct that her friend has a problem and wanted to share it with her. So, I understood the situation and patiently waited for her. When her friend arrived, I was surprise because she is so damned beautiful – another blessing for this day. I can’t explain why I can say it is a blessing when I saw her but I just treat it as a blessing. So, we are heading to IT Park, it was a long journey since 30 minutes is quite long time to wait.

Then we arrived at IT Park and enjoyed the bonding moments with the youths in the ministry. We had a lot of games and some other activities to get along with each other. It is also a blessing for me because we became closer than before. Like a barkada as they call it.

With this, I can conclude that this February 7, 2010 Sunday is indeed a blessed Sunday.

Hope you have a blessed day, too.
